website global launch

Global Deployment of 23 International Websites

Requirement

Get Safe Online, the UKs leading voice on unbiased, factual online safety since 2006, expanded it's presence to 23 countries around the world. As part of this expansion, the website needed a new, modern responsive design. The organisation hired a design agency to build and host the website, but needed the guidance and expertise to deploy and maintain going forward. Get Safe Online also needed a comprehensive data reporting strategy across web and social media. During the development, many of the websites required new translations to reach an even wider global audience. Going live would be supported by a large PR and social media campaign across multiple agencies around the world.

Solution

Digitalvation proposed to act as the technical bridge between the internal board, PR and Content team and the design agency to ensure a smooth transition from the old website to the new website, as well as the shift from the old hosting provider. This included the transition of content, Domain and DNS Management, minimal SEO impact, data reporting impact and downtime. Because of the need to reach a global audience, Digitalvation also recommended implementing a Content Delivery Network (CDN).

Work

Deployment was a success, with any minor issues raised being dealt with in a timely manner so that there was zero impact during launch. One country even requested if the primary and secondary languages could be switched two hours before the press release launch! Digitalvation were on call to make that happen. I continue to work with the organisation to support their strategy through technical and development initiatives, such as the deployment of their Check a Website tool, Spot the AI and the Self Help Tool Centre.
